Our Objectives
FACE aims to connect and empower Africa’s creative industries by fostering collaboration, professionalisation, and skills development. Through advocacy, training, and global promotion, we drive growth, job creation, and industry recognition.
More specifically, FACE aims to:
- Be the driving force behind the cohesion, professionalisation, upskilling and empowerment of Africa’s creative industries sector;
- Be a central African hub as a meeting and learning place for the continent’s creatives towards galvanising the creative industries for growth and job creation;
- Provide networking, knowledge sharing, upskilling and collaboration opportunities through hosting conferences. webinars, discussion groups and workgroups;
- Provide education, training, certification and skills development for African creative industries practitioners and industry organisations, to enhance the professionalism and recognition of practitioners and organisations across the continent;
- Develop African professional designations for key and scarce skills across the continent’s creative industries;
- Increase awareness of the creative industries’ economic and job-creation potential to enhance public and private sector support the sector at an in-country and continental level;
- Establish country chapters, and/or work with existing representative industry bodies in African countries, which unify and strengthen in-country creative industries, providing added value to and supporting the efforts of creative industries organisations and their members in countries across the continent;
- Contribute to conducive and enabling policy frameworks for the creative industries through soft diplomacy and influence;
- Be an information conduit between the continent’s creative industries and governments, donor and development agencies and pan-African bodies;
- Be a centralised and comprehensive knowledge repository of Africa’s creative industries – organisations, government and donor agencies, policies, research etc;
- Contribute to the body of knowledge by conducting own and participating in other research into the sector and share findings to inform policies and programmes;
- Keep members, donors and development agencies up to date with industry developments and opportunities through ongoing multi-channel communications and events;
- Partner with and amplify the efforts of other organisations and initiatives across the continent similarly committed to the advancement of the sector;
- Fundraise to support programmatic interventions, events and any other activities for the benefit of members; and
- Promote the continent’s creative outputs worldwide, raising awareness, appreciation and demand for African creative productions to increase its global market share of the creative economy.
